Tahiti International Airport (aka – the country’s main airport) is located in the nearby town of Papeete Tahiti where the vast majority of flights land from all over the world. One can get from the airport to the center of Papeete Tahiti on the municipal bus (le truck) or a taxi. The bus route is one (Papeete-Faaa-Outumaoro), so there is no risk to be mistaken. During the day, buses run at intervals of 15 minutes, after 10 pm the activity markedly decreases; a similar situation is observed in the weekend. Fare – 150 CFP at day and 250 CFP after 18:00.
