Another moment Chiang Mai is famous for is national parks. There are some of them:

  • Doi Inthanon is a national park where the highest point and highest waterfall in Thailand are. It is obligatory to visit.
    Entrance fee: adults – 200 baht, children – 100 baht.
  • Doi Suthep – Pui – beautiful, charming national park not far from Chiang May. A journey to the top of the Doi Suthep Mountain is not so hard. There are sakura flowers in the beginning of January on Doi Pui. Indeed, reaching sakura is not so easy.
    Entrance free of charge.
  • Pha Daeng: waterfalls, caves, thermal springs.
    Entrance fee: adults – 100 baht, children – 50 baht.
  • Op Luang – in this national park you find enigmatic landscape, thermal springs, caves and Mae Cham river, that flows a zigzag.
    Entrance fee: adults – 200 baht, children – 100 baht.
  • Mae Tho is a national park with the area in 990 square kilometers. There are breathtaking waterfalls and rafting viewpoints down the Mae Cham River.
    Entrance free of charge.
  • Mae Ping- a national park, which is located on left of the Mae Ping River. A park is rich with its forest and picturesque wild nature.
    Entrance fee: adults – 200 baht, children – 100 baht.

There are approximately twelve more national parks in this area.
If you become bored in Chiang Mai, you are able to go to the Sukhothai. The bus departs from the Arcade Bus Station. Why should you go there? There is a great Historical Park, but we will talk about it later.
