Amman Jordan is often called the “White City” because of its unusual brightness – resulting from the use in the construction of white stone – limestone. Houses in the town picturesquely situated on a hillside. Initially, there were seven. Now the sprawling city has no less than fifteen. Amman is the “city of contrasts”, which is closely intertwined the old and new. Modern buildings, hotels, restaurants, galleries and shops downtown coexist with traditional coffee shops and craft workshops. On every corner there is evidence of an ancient past of the city: the ruins of an ancient temple, the palace of the Umayyad, Byzantine church, a Roman amphitheater. Amman Jordanis is also a quarter of the eastern markets, where life rages, Jordanian folklore museum, the exhibition which is an interesting collection of nomadic life, as well as a museum of folk traditions, which presents the various aspects of life in the former Bedouin.
