Inca Empire during its existence has built a system of more than 40 000 kilometers of roads connecting the remote ends of the vast empire, from the north of Quito (Ecuador) to the south of Santiago (Chile) and east to Mendoza (Argentina). Cusco was the center of this great empire. Almost all the major roads in the mountains around Cuzco were built or improved by the Incas. However, the greatest fame a beautiful 43 kilometer stretch of road leading to Machu Picchu called Inca Trail bought, which passes by the archaeological site Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and Wiñay Wayna.
