The ruins of the old town (protected by UNESCO) are located 12 km from the city in the historical reserve (Sukhothai Historical Park) near Sukhothai airport. They give a vivid picture of the past glory of the ancient capital. In the plan, it is a rectangle, walled on each side of which there are gates: the northern – Sanluang, south – Namo, East – West and Kamphaeng – He.
