On Koh Lipe, there are three big beaches and several smaller private ones. The main Koh Lipe beach is Pattaya. Many tourists come here to enjoy warm clear water and soft sand offered by a sheltered bay. There are a huge number of bars and restaurants on the beach and around the corner in the Walking Street. In high season this place is quite overcrowded; however, there are less busy beaches that are only a short walk away. Walking from one beach to another is the way many tourists escape from the crowds. Even though there are many hotels on Pattaya Beach, more and more tourists are now looking for larger resorts.
Sunrise Beach is another beach on Koh Lipe. Stretching out along the entire Eastern side of the island, it offers amazing views of Langkawi and Koh Tarutao islands on fine days. Many tourists come here to enjoy snorkeling. This beach is considered to be a perfect tourist destination all year around. It is protected from the monsoon winds in low season and features a pleasant breeze in high season. On the beach, there are many hotels that are more spread out if compared to those on Pattaya Beach. One can still find there a cheap place to stay. On the Walking Street, there are a few tiny restaurants and shops.
Sunset Beach is another place that deserves your attention. It is obvious that this place is a perfect destination for those who are fond of watching a sunset. Driftwood-built bars and restaurants with their relaxing atmosphere are popular with those going out for a drink or two. Over the years, the beach maintains its authenticity. Around Koh Lipe, there are also smaller uninhabited islands that are very popular with tourists looking for a quiet place to relax. Even though tourists come to Koh Lipe mostly to enjoy snorkeling, some of them arrive here to do some camping.
