The beach of Sanur is the first resort in Bali discovered by tourists. It has a very rich history as well as amazing nature. The beach still retains its laid-back ambience attracting those tourists who look for peace and quiet. The resort features several small beaches that are connected with each other. In Sanur, there is a pleasant paved path that is popular with both tourists and locals who like jogging in the beams of the rising sun. On the coastline, there are some of the island’s earliest pioneering boutiques and hotels. The main tourist attractions on the beach include a number of historical landmarks that are well hidden behind the modern traffic and dining venues.
Here, tourists have a great opportunity to enjoy an environmentally-friendly tour during which they can observe white tip and black tip reef sharks and swim with a dozen of pups. There are also a marine garden aquarium tour and turtle hatchery tour and available for both adults and children. Another great activity offered to the tourists is a “sea walk”. During 30 minutes holidaymakers can explore the Sanur Bali depths enjoying its amazing tropical marine life. To take this tour, no diving or swimming skills are required.
Those who come to the resort in July or August can be lucky enough to enjoy Bali Kites Festival that takes place on the beach every summer when winds are especially strong. This festival is a provincial calendar highlight that presents unique cultural scenes. During the festival, lots of kite troupes and youth groups transport their enormous kites to the beach on large trucks. The wingspans of the kites may range between five and ten meters.
