The territory of the National Park is conditionally divided in two parts: the top of Haleakala Crater with the adjacent territory and coast of Kipahulu. In the coastal tourist park it is recommend visiting Hosmer Grove, where a huge number of rare species of plants brought from different parts of the world. By Haleakala volcano, forming the eastern part of Maui, it is a good road, marked on the tourist map of the island in blue. From the heights a sleeping volcano views are reminiscent of the lunar surface. At the top of the crater of the volcano there is Haleakala Visitor Center. It is open from sunrise to 3 pm. In addition to exploring the exhibits and photographs of the history and geology of the area, with observation deck, tourists can capture the sky-high views of their own cells. Incredible stellar expanse of the night sky, hanging over the summit of Haleakala, considered almost a cult among amateur astronomers.
